day 33

Work has kind of a pattern lately, make breakfast, go finish up Reiner’s house. Like today I painted a part of the porch white, oh sure I did a bit o’ raking fore that, but that’s normal too. So we are at capacity guest-wise and have no rooms to clean today or the next day, yay! After work, which went by so fast today! Sabina and her rental car, two really awesome things that help us get out and enjoy Hawaii, wanted to head off to Ho’Okana beach. It was no clouds, hot and we said yeah! We stopped at this little side of the road coffe shop and gift shop so Sabina could get coffee. She also got lilikoi (finally learned how to spell it) cheesecake which she shared, so good! So we went south pass the area two steps is at and down this scary gravel road. This beach was all nice soft sand, very hot, we played in the rolling water till I was pooped. Then we walked on the lava rock that goes on forever to the right of the beach and saw tide pools (not conataining many living critters). The huge waves kept crashing up against the rocks and making huge splasger, it was just gorgeous to watch. Then we dried off and sun batherd. This is definitely inmy top beaches thus far. I like Kee’I because there are no scary waves, but minimal places to swim, but the one strip of sand is enough for me. Then we stopped at the store on the way home and I got cilantro and tortilla chips for homemade guacamole. That evening I made a big old bowl from avacados we’ve been hoarding away here. We put refried beans on tostadas with cheeses and ground veggie burger and guac, it was delicious and we ate too much. The Simpson’s movie was on TV and I hadn’t seen it, its pretty cool, I liked it. I got this blister on my elbow somehow in the last few days and it popped and got all black and pussy and it hurts so bad I cant fully extend my arm. I swear I am never in all the way good physical health. Like right now my throat hurts, I have the elbow, I cut my finger cutting fruit, and I wore these headphones that go in you ear and kept twisting them in and now my ears ache so bad I can’t lay on the side of my head, its ridiculous. It doesn’t get me down, it’s just bizarre how I get damaged so much just when I am away from home. Anyway today was a great day on a new beach, hooray! There are native geckos (not the jelly eating ones) living in the curtains above our bed, or right outside the window, or both : ) and they make the cutest little squeeking sound. I started reading Catcher and the Rye tonight as well.
